Lion Dancers

Lion Dancers in the month of Tet.

I was so lucky to be here for the Tet Holiday, as I was able to witness the Lion Dancers. It's a big honor to become a Lion Dancer and a ton of hot and heavy work. Teenagers mostly control them with a lead up front and another kid controlling the back legs. These performers jump, shake, and climb over tall metal posts all to the joy of the crowds below. If you're lucky, the lions and a group of drummers will come to visit your home to wish you good luck for the coming new year. And who doesn't need some good luck!
